Alice B. Burke of Saddle River NJ, formerly of New Milford, NJ, died Friday, September 27, 2019, four days after her 95th birthday. Alice was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 23, 1924, the fourth of ten children of George and Anna Morris. Alice married Michael J. Burke at St. Theresa of Avila Church on June 14, 1952, and they began their life together which would live on in love until Mike's death on June 3, 2008 - a union which lasted 11 days shy of 56 years. After leaving Brooklyn in 1954, Alice and Mike settled in New Milford, NJ where they would raise their four children. Alice worked as an office administrator for MetLife for many years, but her primary focus was always on her family. Alice was predeceased by her husband Michael; her sisters Anna Morris, Mary Walsh and Therese O'Shea, and her brothers George, Terry and Robert Morris. She is survived by her children Mickey (Dawn) of Haskell, NJ, Lynn Horbatuck (Hank) of Ringwood, NJ, Peter (Doreen) of Cary, NC and Terry (Letitia) of Waldwick, NJ. Also surviving are her grandchildren Michael Burke (Carissa), Shannon McNulty (Tim), Ryan Burke (Krista), Keith Horbatuck, Eric Horbatuck, Kevin Horbatuck (Michelle), Daniel Burke (Kristen), Matt Burke, Rachel Pavlakis (Constantine) and Thomas LaForgia (Emily), and her great-grandchildren M.J. and Remington Burke, Timothy, Connor and Madailin McNulty, Max Taylor, Hazel Horbatuck, Miller Burke, and Eva, Kosta and Despina Pavlakis. Sadly, she was not able to meet her 12th great-grandchild, baby LaForgia, who will be here soon. Also surviving are her brothers Frank Morris (Grace), Bro. Roman Morris, OSF and William Morris. The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Our Lady Mother of the Church RC Church in Woodcliff Lake NJ. Interment will follow in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes NJ.
