Brian Keith

Brian Edwin Keith, 52, of Raleigh, passed away peacefully early Friday, February 26, 2016. Brian was born August 28, 1963 in Wake County to the late Rufus Edwin Keith and Jenny Sue Jones Keith. He graduated from Enloe High School and received a Political Science Degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 1986. Brian was a devout Tar Heel fan through and through. Brian worked many years as an Air Traffic Controller at RDU. In April of 1991 he started working at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service. He earned an Associate Degree in Funeral Service from Fayetteville Technical College, graduating with honors in 2000. In 2001 he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, but he continued to work and be involved with the funeral home daily. He was very meticulous and took great pride to honor each family that he served. Brian had a quick wit, an answer for everything and was never wrong. His family and his friends will forever cherish his footprint on their lives. He leaves to cherish his memory: brother, Danny Keith (Norma) of Spring Hope; nephews: James Keith of Raleigh, Taylor Keith of Spring Hope, Thomas Richards of Bailey, Chad Richards of Knightdale; 5 nieces; uncle, Willard Keith (Pearl); aunts: Katherine and Margaret Keith, Becky Jones Pearce and her family; cousins: Emma Jo Massey Watkins and her family, Billy Massey and his family, Jack Massey and his family; and all the wonderful and caring cousins of the Keith family. He loved being back at the Jones Family home place. Brian was forever grateful for the care and love given by his friends and neighbors and to the relationships from his Carolina buddies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunts: Goldie Cooke, Janie Pearl Mangum, and Judy Jones Pearce (Bobby); uncles: Linwood, Wesley, Clifton, and Carlton Keith.
