Our Beloved Clara Mae Burchette born December 3rd 1938 passed March 22nd 2025. She is preceeded in death by her father Desmond Gray Smith and mother Ella Mae Smith; brother Desmond Gray Smith Jr; daughter Lisa Rose Burchette; sons, Gary Dale Burchette and Jeffery Wayne Burchette; son-in-law Lee Long; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Freeman; great grandson Mateo Joaquin Angel Hernandez, and the father of her children Billy Dean Burchette

She is survived by her sibling’s, Garland Eugene (Joyce) Smith, Sandra Jean Munday, Linda Gail Smith, Donna Colleen (David) Oldham; children Mary Elizabeth Long, Larry Dean Burchette, Brenda Carol (Magdaleno) Bautista, Jamie Lee Burchette, Janice Leigh Burchette, and Jeannie Rebecca Burchette, and her beloved 20 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. And her two special sidekicks Romeo and Gypsy.

Clara loved spending time with her family and pets, going to church, and Elvis Presley. She enjoyed spending her free time watching westerns, doing word puzzles, and drinking diet Dr. Pepper and coffee.

The family wants to extend their gratitude to Clemmons Medical, Novant Forsyth Medical Center, and SECU Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and love they gave during Clara’s last moments.

The family will be holding a visitation from 12:00-2:00PM on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at Maranatha Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held following the visitation. The staff of Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Burchette family.
