Mr. James Milton Pearce, age 78 of Piedmont School Road, Denton, NC died Friday, March 8 at Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, March 12 at Lineberry United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Richard Gould and Rev. Sandy Young. Burial will follow at Mountain View memorial Gardens. The family will see friends at Briggs Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday, March 11. Mr. Pearce was born July 31, 1940 in Randolph County to Ivey Newton Pearce and Annie L Nance Pearce. He was a member of Lineberry United Methodist Church. He graduated in the class of 1958 from Farmer High School/ He began his career in the textile industry working his way up to supervisor and later to overseer of the entire carding department having been associated with Klopman Mills Dakota Mills, Jockey International and Highland Yarns. As textile plants were closing, he began a different life as a car salesman with Ilderton Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep in High Point and M & L Motors in Lexington. This was something he had always enjoyed, buying and selling. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacie Pearce, by his parents, his in-laws, Edmond Skeen and Nellie Russell Skeen and a brother-in-law Eddie Skeen. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Linda Skeen Pearce of the home, a brother Mike Pearce and wife Vickie of Asheboro; sister-in-laws, Donna Skeen of Denton and Carol Skeen Stutts and husband Tony of Terrell; nephews, William Skeen and Cory Stutts and wife Carla; niece Maggie Skeen; great niece Mackenzie Stutts and great nephew Latt Stutts.
