Myron Funderburk

Myron Thomas Funderburk, 73, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 26, 2018, at CHS-Northeast Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born July 12, 1944 in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Murrell T. and Lula Safrit Funderburk. Myron was a 1962 graduate of East Rowan High School and later Fayetteville Tech. He had worked many years for Bendix. He later proudly attained his NC Funeral Director license. Myron's love for people allowed him to serve families as a funeral director with Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, and later with Whitley's Funeral Home. A loyal member of Central Baptist Church, Myron loved his Lord, family, church and church family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family members include his wife, Barbara Funderburk; his children Eddie Funderburk (Keli), Theresa Funderburk, Andrew Funderburk (Joy), Donna Gainey (Ronnie); grandchildren, Lydia, Katherine and Bryson Funderburk, Matthew Gainey and McKenzie Nance (C.J.); his sister Elaine Funderburk; brother, Ray Funderburk (Jean), special uncle, Ray Safrit (Phyllis), many nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 29th from 1:30-3:30 pm at Central Baptist Church. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Myron's life will begin at 4:00 pm Sunday in the church, conducted by Rev. Curtis Parker and Dean Hunter. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. For those who prefer, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 1810 Moose Rd., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
